Allowing your soul seeds to guide you
Are you a creative soul wishing to birth a new idea? Maybe the seed of a book, or program or business is lighting up your soul… but how do you bring it to fruition?
By knowing each stage your “soul seed” is in.
There’s a whole new way to think about your creativity and creative projects, one that aligns with your soul path and purpose and, when we understand it, we can feel the creative juices flow in a whole new way.
First, we need to understand the concept of a soul seed, which our soul will send us to gestate and birth.
What is a soul seed?
I call a soul seed any sort of idea, book, project, a body of work, a business, a course, a concept—basically, anything that has been given to you by your soul. It is a project or concept that deeply aligns with your path and purpose that you are destined to bring through to the world.
Naturally, not every idea or every book or every project, every concept holds this level of alignment for us. That doesn’t mean that everything else is out of alignment; it just doesn’t have perhaps the same depth, the same destiny, perhaps.
Some ideas, businesses, projects, or concepts are assigned very deeply as part of our individual soul's blueprint. And this is what I would call a soul seed. I believe that my first book, You Already Know, was indeed a soul seed. It is absolutely intrinsically linked with my personal path and purpose.
As Elizabeth Gilbert explains so well in her book Big Magic: creative living beyond fear, if we don’t act on our ideas, they may go elsewhere —and I’d argue a genuine soul seed won’t. You can explore this more in the audio.
“Remember, you are the custodian for these ideas, for these soul seeds. and their frequencies. Are you ready to open up and let them in? ”
From soul seed to soul work: the 4 stages of creating your soul work
Just as there may be a seed of an idea from your soul, if you accept it, it’s rather like falling pregnant. And, like pregnancy, our souls seeds move through four similar stages of creation:
Conceiving your soul work: receiving the soul seed
Our idea needs to “take hold”, or impregnate us. We need to rest between our creations. After giving physical birth, our physical body needs to rest and recover —so too does our spiritual body as we conceive soul projects. It's also really difficult to conceive when you're still pregnant with something else.
The conception phase doesn't need to be quick. You might be think about an idea or mull over it for a really long time. And in my example with Elizabeth Gilbert, she sat with that conception for some time, before it left and took up somewhere else. Soul will send us the soul seed, or creative idea, when its ready. Our job is to prepare the “soil” or creative space inside of us to receive it and let it take hold.
Gestating your soul work: allowing the soul seed to germinate
In pregnancy, it takes nine months of gestation. A soul seed can have an indiscriminate length of time. It takes as long as it takes for your creative idea, or soul seed to incubate. We must allow an idea to fully form. Far too many creations are birthed too early —they fail without the proper gestation. They were shared prematurely and may not be able to fight to stay alive.
Labouring your soul work: expanding and contracting with your soul seed
We know that when we are in a physical labour, we experience (an often painful!) expansion and contract, building to a big push at the end. So it is with our soul work! Each soul seed we gestate will ask us to expand and contract —for us to learn our lessons and accept our purpose and gifts—as we prepare to birth it. With a book, business, or product or project, such labouring may really come as we're preparing for its release, launch or promotion, its the finer details before the end, the transition from our minds into something physical, or receivable, by others.
Birth your soul work: launch your offer
This is the moment we now have two separate entities: mother and child, or soul worker and soul seed. When the soul work is fully realised, fully formed and fully sent out in the world as a separate entity, we’ve completed this stage. Of course, each separate entity will move into other phases of growth and maturity from here, requiring a different consideration altogether.
Why does my soul work feel so urgent?
We can often feel a huge sense of urgency or immediacy with such soul aligned projects. Our soul, or Spiritual Support Team imparts a certain frequency we perceive as a sense of urgency, but to spirit and soul, it’s more a sense of importance. We feel that sense of urgency and think it has to happen now. To spirit that sense of urgency does not have a timeframe and it's really just a level of importance. Your soul work has it’s own blueprint and divine timing, but more on that soon.
Your soul work has its own soul blueprint
Your soul work, and the seeds of your soul work, will have an impact on your lessons and purpose. That is, the custodian or the vehicle that is conceiving, gestating, labouring, and birthing these soul seeds will be significantly impacted as they channel them, or bring them through.
And, the soul seeds themselves have lessons and purpose all of their own.
Imagine knowing all of this, as you're trying to bring your soul seed to life. Imagine creating a business not just with a business plan but the actual blueprint for what’s at the heart of that business. The business has its own lessons and its own purpose —imagine knowing that!
Let your soul seed, or soul work, guide you
Connect with your soul work, or the seed of your soul work, as you might connect with your Spiritual Support Team.
There is a very specific process of accessing channeling and interacting with the soul of the work that I have used to create my businesses, books and programs. And I’d love to support your with your own soul work.
